The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau

The book club met again this week to discuss Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer.  We all agreed that we are on a technology/scifi kick and needed something a little less ‘magical’ for our next read.

So we picked…. The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau as our next read!

Our NEXT meeting is APRIL 23rd at 4pm!

“The city of Ember was built as a last refuge for the human race. Two hundred years later, the great lamps that light the city are beginning to flicker. When Lina finds part of an ancient message, she’s sure it holds a secret that will save the city. She and her friend Doon must decipher the message before the lights go out on Ember forever!”

This classic book was also made into a movie!

We are going to watch some (or all!) of it at our next meeting so you won’t want to miss it! THERE WILL BE POPCORN!!!

Here’s a trailer of the movie to get you hyped:

So come to the library to pick up your copy today and help crack the code to keep the lights on in Ember!

And don’t forget, our next meeting is:

April 23rd at 4pm!
